UK Premiere, Johanna Faust, Switzerland, 2019, German & English, 91m
In this intimate and revealing autobiographical documentary, filmmaker and artist Johanna Faust attempts to reconcile motherhood with her desire to devote more of herself to her art.
As she journeys though her family history, travelling from her home in Switzerland to the USA and Mexico, she weaves together a poignant and compelling story of intergenerational trauma and the lasting effect it has had on her family.
Spanning four generations of mothers, whose struggles to conform to society’s expectations contribute to their experiences with mental ill health, I’ll Be Your Mirror is an honest portrayal of internal conflict and what can happen when we question our own history.
View I'll Be Your Mirror at INDY On Demand. Screening 10-16 May for UK audiences.
Join us for a Zoom Q&A with Johanna Faust at 8pm on Thursday 13 May.
