Acclaimed playwright and screenwriter Enda Walsh takes questions from you about writing, theatremaking and his illustrious career, in a special event hosted by the Traverse’s Literary Associate, Eleanor White.
Enda Walsh is a truly unique and inimitable voice, with a C.V. that boasts some of the most form-breaking and thrilling work seen on stages around the world since his 1997 debut with modern classic Disco Pigs. Since then he has created a wide range of work, both fantastical and unflinchingly realist.
His work for the stage includes the adaptations of the world-wide phenomenon musical Once - for which he won a Tony Award for Best Book - Max Porter’s Grief is the Thing with Feathers and Roald Dahl's The Twits, Lazarus, Ballyturk, Misterman, The Walworth Farce, The Same, Arlington and operas The Second Violinist and The Last Hotel.
Enda has also written for screen, including the multi-award-winning 2008 Hunger, a biopic which told the story of the final days of IRA hunger striker Bobby Sands and is currently working on Troubles with Blueprint Pictures for television.
You can submit your question in the chat feature once the Q&A has begun. We will as ask as many questions as possible in the time available.
A recording of this Q&A will be available to purchase and watch following the live event.
This event is part of our First Stages Festival - a celebration of storytelling and playwriting.
