A season of online gigs to keep the spotlight on some of Scotland's most exciting and dynamic trad musicians during this difficult period, bringing you first-class live music in the comfort of your own homes. Filmed in isolation at the Traverse Theatre, each unique concert will be available to purchase and view online for one week, with all money raised from ticket sales (bar sales/admin charges) going directly to the artists. So treat yourself to a stay-home shindig and support some of your favourite musicians in the process!

Tickets go on sale on October 5th

Full line-up below:

Mon 12 Oct - Kicking off the season we have the legendary, multi-award winning Old Blind Dogs playing some of their old favourites, plus there's some yet-to-be-recorded new tunes in the mix. The band’s unique sound draws on the rhythms of Middle Eastern, rock, reggae, jazz and blues.

Mon 19 Oct - Following on is Shetland Springs, originally commissioned and performed to a sell-out crowd in 2019. This concert will feature both Catriona MacDonald (fiddle, of String Sisters) and Margaret Robertson (fiddle, piano, Margaret Robertson Music Tuition) from the original line-up, and is a true celebration of Shetland’s rich fiddle tradition.

Mon 26 Oct - Next up is Siobhan Miller, one of the finest young voices on the Scottish folk scene. Siobhan is the ONLY three-time winner of Scots Singer of the Year at the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Award, and her latest album All is Not Forgotten was released in April this year.

Mon 2 Nov - Finally, we are joined by acclaimed Skye piper Malin Lewis, Ali Hutton (guitar) and Shona Mooney (fiddle) for Malin makes Music -Malin is a piper, fiddler, instrument maker and highly talented composer and this set list features one tune from band mate Mooney thrown in for good measure.

Edinburgh Tradfest Spotlight is produced by The Soundhouse Organisation, with thanks to Traverse Theatre, Creative Scotland, The City of Edinburgh Council and the William Grant Foundation.
