Echo of Japan – Koto performance
Japanese Koto is an ancient instrument dating back 1300 years when it had five strings. It has evolved to have thirteen and even twenty strings today. Mio Shudo is an accomplished musician on piano and harp and plays Koto at numerous events. Mio will perform some of the oldest written music available today for Koto by Yatsuhashi Kengyo (1614-1685) and other Japanese folk songs.
Free and drop-in. Will take place in the Hornel exhibition.
