Walter Scott’s Jacobites

About Walter Scott’s Jacobites

This September, join us for a month of events to coincide with the 275th anniversary of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s stay at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in September 1745.

Scottish novelist Walter Scott wrote about Jacobites in his world-famous novels Waverley (1814), Rob Roy (1817) and Redgauntlet (1824). Join us, every Friday in September, for a short talk with readings exploring how Walter Scott portrayed the Jacobite cause in his novels.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Walter Scott’s Jacobites are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment. All information (whether in text or photographs) is given in good faith but should not be relied upon as being a statement of representation or fact.
