First Bite Junior Youth Theatres (established 1994) is for all 7 - 11 year olds with a love of drama and the performing arts. Each year we work towards a full scale production which is generally devised and written by the group.
"Lovely to see children being encouraged to think their own thoughts and build their self confidence and their listening skills as well as to enjoy being part of a group. These children are having fun. Lovely relationship building skills amongst the children and a very experienced and gifted leader whom they simultaneously love and respect." - Parent Feedback / March 2018
On moving to High School, all members of the junior youth theatre are guaranteed a place in our senior YT which also seeks to provide young people with the opportunity to explore the technical aspects of production including costume and set design and construction, administration, prop making, lighting and sound design and publicity.
"A fantastic adventure to be a part of for 11 years of my life. Along the way I have made life-long friends, gained skills and confidence and formed great memories that will stay with me forever." - Participant Feedback 2014
In line with the phased reopening of Community Centres, First Bite Junior Youth Theatre will aim to restart face to face classes after the half term break, from October 22nd. Until then, sessions will be delivered online via Zoom.
"Really impressed with the creative use of what was possible online - well done, everyone!" - Parent Feedback / July 2020
