We can’t imagine Edinburgh in August without theatre, so we are reviving Not Cricket's five star Fringe hit, Standfast for three nights only from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th August 2020, 7pm.
Scotland, 1918. Your mission is to prevent a ruthless network of German spies leaking state secrets to the enemy. Step into the shoes of secret agent Richard Hannay to meet contacts, seek out vital information and crack the code before time runs out. Inspired by the works of John Buchan, escape room meets theatre in this interactive adventure around the streets of Edinburgh. Sensible footwear and waterproofs recommended. Teams of 2-5.
The event takes place outdoors and will be socially distanced. At present, numbers are strictly limited to conform with current guidelines, but we are hoping to be able to add more teams following announcements later this month. In the event that more stringent policies are reintroduced, we will obviously be happy to refund any tickets that have been purchased.
If you would like any further details about the measures that we are implementing to make the experience safe and enjoyable, please contact us at email@example.com. The experience starts at Makars’ Court and then moves to a number of other outdoor locations around Old Town Edinburgh. It is accessible to wheelchair users and an accessibility guide is available by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org (we haven’t included this on our website as it contains a minor spoiler).
Tickets are £21 (a saving of £7 on last year!) and must be pre-booked online. A single ticket provides admission for a team of between 2 and 5 people (a maximum of 4 households) and tckets can be booked here: www.tickettailor.com/events/notcricketproductions
‘Thrilling, inventive and utterly original, Standfast is a theatre/escape room hybrid set in and amongst Edinburgh’s picturesque Royal Mile.
The concept is ambitious, to say the least, but is faultless in its execution. An all-female cast decked in period costume lurk at their stations, hiding behind historic haunts for your arrival, communicating their secrets and tasks to you so convincingly that the story becomes alive as you dodge the flyerers, street performers and tourists in your WWI era treasure hunt to save the city.’
