About DJ Scratch and Sniff:

DJ Scratch and Sniff is the love machine of Brooklyn/Glasgow electronic music producer and electro diva Marilyn Carino. Carino creates live-mixed improvisational dance music firmly rooted in Disco grooves and sprinkled with classic Bhangra, Electro and Reggae sounds – all the while baking small batches of gourmet vegan cookies live on stage, which are serve to salivating crowds.

The collective has performed for hundreds at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, for thousands at Manhattan's Chelsea Piers and at indoor and outdoor venues around Europe. Their beats-meets-bakeoff, five senses dance-a-thon most recently performed at Irvine Welsh’s latest book launch, Edinburgh's Meadows Festival, Doune the Rabbit Hole, Kelburn Garden Party and the Edinburgh Fringe. Their debut single "Disco-nected", DJ Scratch And Sniff's response to the Brexit kerfuffle, was released in 2019 on the Colliderscope imprint.

Pirita Tuisku & Thabo Mokolobate : Beautiful Chaos 20

Pirita Tuisku is damce artist from Finland and she is based in Edinburgh. Thabo Mokolobate is South African Spoken word artist.

This work is their first collaboration work together.

Beautiful Chaos 20 is a multi-disciplinary reflection of cultures from Africa to Europe. The objective is creating a bridge for all people around the world, to wow one another with the problem solving ability. The collaboration strikes a perfect balance of humor and seriousness though dance, poetry and video art forms. The performance is wild and cunning, it makes you want to be part of the journey in your own way.

The creative idea and goal for `Beautiful Chaos 20`, is to create a platform where we can share our thoughts about diversity, what we can learn from each other and share our cultures. As well research how dance & poetry can meld together with more Urban and contemporary approach.

Work has been supported by Dance Base.
