For our second party of the year we're welcoming French party legend Teki Latex to The Mash House for his debut Edinburgh performance, alongside Miss World in room 2.
Teki Latex has been a leading member of the French underground in various forms since his involvement with revered progressive rap outfit TTC in the late 90s. His numerous creative outlets since, which have included musical selector to the French ballroom scene (at the Paris branch of House of Ninja), Boiler Room curator and host, Rinse FM & Rinse France resident, SOUND PELLEGRINO co-founder and Overdrive Infinity creator, have informed a wildly unique and unparalleled approach to DJing that puts him up there with the world's best.
Refusing to acknowledge limits between genres and rejecting irony at all costs, Teki Latex is renowned for his ability to fuse together wide-reaching and unexpected musical flavours, joining the dots between headsy classics, modern club weapons and iconic pop anthems. With a profound knowledge and respect for the histories of house, techno and italo disco that's equally as palpable as his fascination for the broken rhythms of IDM, grime, UK garage and sound system culture, as well as the many incarnations of modern American club music, it's often hard to predict how a set from the King of Blends will turn out - there's rarely any doubt however that it'll be drenched in energy, and full to the brim of unadulterated dance emotion. Truly one of our favourite DJs and someone we've been trying to bring to the club for ages, it's our pleasure that we can finally welcome Teki Latex to Edinburgh.
We are also delighted to finally welcome EH-FM and Sneaky Pete's residents Miss World to Palidrone, who we've invited to hold down room 2. The all-female DJ collective, consisting of Aphid, Emily Grieve, Feena & Iced Gem, play a vital role in the Edinburgh scene through their inclusive monthly parties at Sneaky Pete's which look to bring local and international female talent to the spotlight (past guests include Peach, Logic1000 and Lauren Hansom), as well as running DJ workshops for womxn and non-binary people in Edinburgh and holding down a monthly slot on EH-FM. Naturally, they are all fantastic DJs packed with genre-fluid selections and unbeatable chemistry to match, and we're thrilled to finally bring the full musical beauty pageant to Palidrone.
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Palidrone: Teki Latex + Miss World are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment. All information (whether in text or photographs) is given in good faith but should not be relied upon as being a statement of representation or fact.
