An exciting exhibition of paintings based on the theme of dystopia, war and the human condition by Edinburgh artist Jon Canty at Coburg House Art Gallery and Studios in Leith.

About Utopia Banished solo exhibition by Jon Canty

The exhibition will feature recent work based upon narratives associated with dystopia, war and the threat of nuclear apocalypse. It will include a number of pieces from Jon’s series ‘Resistance in the face of Aggression’ which features disturbing atmospheric portraits of wartime figures in gas masks as well as the intriguing paintings based on a visit he took to the Nuclear Bunker in Fife.

The exhibition will run over two weekends:

Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th March - 11am till 4pm
Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th March 11am till 4pm

with the opening on Friday 6th March.
