About Folk Up the Punx: Boom Boom Racoon, Rebecca Radical, Sturdy Fragiles + Vee Ruins

February edition of Folk Up the Punx features special guests Boom Boom Racoon from Bristol, UK. Come support some folk punk wildlife on tour at their first full gig in Edinburgh! They will be joined by Fife folk punk from Rebecca Radical, and local bands Sturdy Fragiles and Vee Ruins.

Boom Boom Racoon (Bristol):

Boom Boom Racoon are an anarcho folk punk 3 piece that plays scrappy, accoustic DIY ska punk coming to Edinburgh from Bristol as part of their February tour.

They describe themselves as 80% politics, 30% nonsense, and enjoy singing about everything from biscuit heists to anti-fascism.

Rebecca Radical (Kircaldy):

Anarcho-punk singer songwriter, Buckfast-lover, DIY-practitioner who sings about monarchy, masturbation, and Bojo, of course.

Sturdy Fragiles:

Local folk punk band covering everything Pat the Bunny ever wrote

Vee Ruins:

Vee Ruins is a singer-songwriter who plays witty and incisive folk punk about hating men & cops and calls it praxis. Her music is riot grrrl, but like if Kathleen Hanna was in the black bloc.
