Twilight Cycle Ride
Sorry you are too late, this event has been and gone!
Have you started cycling, or recently returned to it, but don't feel confident in the dark? This fun guided twilight cycle will give you some tips about riding at night!
About Twilight Cycle Ride
From Victoria Park, Newhaven to Cramond Esplanade and return.
Do you fancy trying some audacious cycling? Here is an opportunity for you to experience twilight riding, from Newhaven Harbour, through Granton, Silverknowes, and finally Cramond where there willl be time for a drink before returning. Before we set off we'll check our bikes and discuss the lights and visual effect we want to create for safety and enjoyment. There will be a briefing on the paths and roads we will be using, hazards we are likely to come across and appropriate spacing and distance from the curb. The pace and distance of the ride will be kept low with breaks if needed. You will be advised about using appropriate gears on your bike.
We will be avoiding busy roads where possible and exploring the cycle paths Edinburgh has to offer, in the dark! We'll keep an eye on the weather forecast and in the event of extreme bad weather the ride may be rescheduled due to health and safety - as we are audacious but not foolish! If necessary, an alternative route may be used keeping as close as possible to our planned route. Join us!
What to bring: You will need working front and rear lights. We will provide a high vis vest.
