About Taster Course - Printing with Plaster with Eleanor McCullough
This one day taster will introduce you to techniques to print with plaster using two different processes; linocutting and digital image transfer. Linocut is one of the simplest methods of transferring and reproducing an image through print. In this case however, plaster will replace ink, to leave a three dimensional impression. Digital image transfer will allow you to experiment with transferring digital images onto plaster slabs. By the end of the course you will have learned how to mix and pour plaster and have produced two plaster slabs, printed with your images.
Eleanor McCullough is a Graduate Studio Holder at ESW. She graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2017 as a recipient of the Andrew Grant Bequest, Baldwin Brown Prize, and Wilhelmina Barns Graham Award. She has been on a printmaking residency at Hospitalfield, Arbroath. Most recently she undertook a residency at Maruseppu Art Residency, Japan, where she established a print studio for the residency’s school programme.
