In a cinematic letter to his son, native Rapa Nui (Easter Island) filmmaker Sergio Mata’u Rapu crafts a global wake-up call from the remote Pacific. In the face of mass tourism, rapid development and mounting amounts of waste, the descendants of the ancient statue builders are seeking to recycle ancient traditions in a bid for environmental sustainability. Eating up Easter presents a rousing tribute to the role of community engagement, arts and creativity in driving positive social change.
