On this Introduction to foundational calligraphy workshop with artist Panna Chauhan you will begin with an introduction to the basics of calligraphy including the different types of nibs, correct sizing of letters and how to hold the pen with the right tension to achieve a fluid letter.
You will spend the morning learning and practicing letter forms in the basic 'foundational' hand, under Panna's watchful eye.
After a break for lunch, you will learn how to apply your traditional calligraphy skills to creating an abstract piece of calligraphy which you will take home as a reminder of your day, and to inspire you to continue practising.
You will have access to all the equipment you will need, and the price includes all materials, buffet style lunch and refreshments. You will also take home a practice pack and a framed calligraphy piece.
Please note that The Arienas Collective experiences are run from a first-floor space and unfortunately we do not have lift access.
