Playtime presents New Works

About Playtime presents New Works

In February 2014, saxophonist Martin Kershaw, guitarist Graeme Stephen, bassist Mario Caribe and drummer Tom Bancroft got together to play music regularly in the loft space of the Outhouse Bar in Broughton Street Lane, just round the corner from Edinburgh's York Place tram terminus.

Within a short time they had become a band with a reputation for covering the jazz repertoire from tributes to the giants - Coltrane, Miles, Monk - to new compositions and freely improvised pieces.

Their now fortnightly sessions are a central plank of the Edinburgh jazz calendar and produce creativity with a mutual understanding that makes for hugely satisfying music.

All composers with considerable recording history, they play their latest pieces in this intimate showcase for their mighty talents.
