On this silver clay jewellery taster workshop, you will create a pendant or pair of earrings from hallmark-quality silver with experienced, Edinburgh-based jeweller Anna Campbell.
You will learn how to make jewellery out of a material called silver clay, which is made up of recycled silver particles, an organic binder and water. Silver clay requires with very little equipment so it's perfect for those wanting to learn a new skill they can easily do at home.
You will be taken through all the steps to create your own piece ready for firing. The dried clay is fired with a butane torch to form it into silver (but a crème brulé torch will do the trick!). You’ll then polish your silver jewellery ready to take home.
This taster class is perfect for giving you an idea of the possibilities of this unique material. You can then choose to move on to one of our more advanced jewellery making workshops if you wish.
You will have access to all the equipment you need, and the workshop price includes all materials and welcome refreshments.
Please note that our workshops are run from the first floor of a Georgian mews home and unfortunately there is no lift access.
Dates and times:
23/9 6pm - 9pm
