On Tuesday 10th September, Vue is celebrating the literary accomplishments of Margaret Atwood, author of the bestselling Handmaid’s Tale, in a live cinema event. On the day the highly awaited sequel, The Testaments, is released, fans will be treated to a live broadcast with the immensely talented novelist, 34 years after her debut tale. During the evening of conversation, Atwood promises to reveal her inner workings and inspirations to the seminal story, with exclusive readings from special guests also featured. It is sure to be a memorable and intimate Big Screen Event for literature lovers not to be missed.
The latest National Theatre production to come from London’s West End to Vue screens will be the hilariously witty one-woman show NT Live: Fleabag on Thursday 12th September. Written and performed by the uproarious Phoebe Waller-Bridge, fans have the unique opportunity to experience the sold-out show that inspired the BBC’s hit TV series. Fleabag may seem oversexed, emotionally unfiltered and self-obsessed, but that's just the tip of the iceberg.
To mark the notable National Theatre Live’s 10th birthday, the West End and Broadway hit One Man, Two Guvnors will be returning to the big screen at Vue. Featuring a Tony Award-winning performance from the hilarious James Corden, host of The Late Late Show, Thursday 26th and Friday 27th September are set to be highlights in your entertainment calendar. Based on The Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni, the production is directed by Richard Bean, with songs by Grant Olding.
Johnny Carr, Event Cinema Manager at Vue UK and Ireland, said: “September has an incredibly unique and sensational selection of Big Screen Events in the line-up, including some of the very best theatrical productions from across the world, all shown in the fantastic quality and comfort of our screens.”
