“Spellbinding piano from Tom Sochas… a very, very beautiful album.” — Jamie Cullum
★★★★ “The Sorcerer” resonates deeper with every play.” — MOJO
★★★★ “The Sorcerer” is full of surprises, intricate mood swings and unfolds gradually, with all its meditativeness, leaving no opportunity for the listener to get bored.” — Jazzist Magazine
Tom Sochas makes his debut appearance at the Institut français d’Écosse presenting some brand new mountain-inspired music recently composed out in the Arctic Circle off the coast of Norway which will feature on his up-coming album, as well as tune from his previous critically acclaimed album, The Sorcerer.
He’ll be joined by master bass player Theo Malka-Wishart on bass and the inimitable Filippo Galli on drums. Influenced by the likes of Esbjorn Svennson, Brad Mehldau and Eyelolf Dale, you can expect a blend of delicate contrapuntal melodies and hard-hitting grooves.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
