Welcome to our exciting event, Introduction to Fused Glass! If you've ever been curious about the beautiful art of fused glass, this is the perfect opportunity to dip your toes in. Join Tim Kirman and Moira Buchanan on Sat, May 18 at 9:00 AM at the Leith Collective, Glasgow Fort for a hands-on workshop where you'll learn the basics of creating your own stunning fused glass pieces. No experience necessary - just bring your creativity and enthusiasm! See you there!
Join us for a day filled with creativity, learning, and inspiration as Moira and Tim guide you through the intricate process of working with glass to craft stunning pieces that capture and refract light in mesmerizing ways. Whether you're a seasoned artist looking to explore a new medium or a complete beginner eager to delve into the world of glass art, this workshop promises an unforgettable experience under the guidance of a true luminary in the field. Get ready to immerse yourself in a day of hands-on learning and artistic exploration.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
During this 1-day introductory class (depending on how fast you work and with a little help from Moira and Tim) you will be guided through the basic steps of making 3 small fused glass birds to adorn your house.
No experience required!
You will learn all the basic skills needed to make a fused glass piece such as:
· Selecting suitable glass.
· Scoring and breaking glass to fit a pattern.
· Grinding glass.
· Preparing glass for fusing.
· Finishing.
WHAT YOU WILL TAKE HOME
3 fused glass creations made by YOU with vibrant glass colours!
Due to time limitations your finished pieces will be fused at our studio and can be collected 7 days after the event. We will confirm details for collection on the day.
All supplies, materials and equipment will be provided by Tim and Moira. Just bring yourself, an open mind to learn, and the bravery to break some glass!
