About Furniture Upcycling and Decorative Techniques: 8 week course

This is an 8 week furniture upcycling course, that's running on a Tuesday evening from 7pm - 9pm at Craigroyston Community High School starting on the 21st of January. There is free parking at the school.

This course is suitable for complete beginners and intermediates, it's a social and informative class where you will learn new skills and meet like minded people.

By the end of the course students will have learned/be able to:
- prepare furniture for upcycling and undertake minor repairs;
- a basic understanding on how to use tools and materials for furniture upcycling;
- basic brushwork skills for painting, varnishing, waxing, stencilling; and
- been introduced to various types of furniture upcycling techniques; flat finish, distressing, adding colourful designs using taping, using wallpaper on furniture, stencilling, decoupage and recovering a drop seat pad for a chair.

GENERAL APPROACH TO THE COURSE: Talks and demonstrations on the materials, tools and skills. You will also learn by working on your own piece(s) and by seeing what other participants do with their furniture.
