Join the unique, award winning, writing partnership Ambrose Parry and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh for an evening discussing the medical history that inspired their historical novels "The Way of All Flesh" and "The Art of Dying". Greatly inspired by the life and work of Sir James Young Simpson, Ambrose Parry will discuss their writing and the challenges of the collaborative process.
Ambrose Parry is a pseudonym for a collaboration between Chris Brookmyre and Marisa Haetzman. The couple are married and live in Glasgow.
Chris Brookmyre is the international bestselling and multi-award-winning author of over twenty novels, including Black Widow, winner of Theakston Old Peculiar Crime Novel of The Year and the Mcllvanney Prize for Scottish Crime Novel of the Year.
Dr Marisa Haetzman is a former consultant anaesthetist of twenty years experience, whose research for her Masters degree in the History of Medicine inspired their work.
The talk will last approximately one hour.
