To mark Black History Month, internationally celebrated mezzo soprano Andrea Baker performs her award-winning celebration of the African American female voice. Weaving together the stories of women including Marian Anderson, Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin and Billie Holiday, Baker reveals the extraordinary lives of these powerful singers and their fight for artistic freedom at home and abroad. With Richard Lewis on piano.
