Join Thomas Ware as he delves into the history of the Knights of St John in medieval Scotland.

He’ll look at the history of Hospitallers in Scotland and discuss Sir William Knollys. Sir William was Preceptor of Torphichen, the order’s Scottish commander, from 1466–1508. He lived at least part of the time in rooms on the Lawnmarket.

The modern-day St John Ambulance organisation has its roots in this fascinating religious order.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Lecture Series: The Knights of St John in Medieval Scotland are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
