About Paula Ryan - Edinburgh Fringe - Festival Folk At The Oak

Following #sold #out #shows in 2015. 2016 and 2017, Paula Ryan - Award Winning Irish Singer Songwriter & Gaelic Funkstress will be back performing at the largest arts festival in the world - the Edinburgh Fringe Festival - as part of Festival Folk At The Oak in one of Edinburgh's most renowned venues for live music the Royal Oak.

Paula Ryan is an award-winning Singer/Songwriter hailing from Tipperary, Ireland. Paula’s music has been described as a quite unique blend of Celtic lyricism and passion with original songwriting and the funky rhythms and influences of the roots music of other cultures. Paula uses an unusual array of instruments (Marimba, Guitar, Bodhran, Bazouki) to accompany songs which are insightful and powerful as well as entertaining. Whatever the stage or the size of the audience, Paula's performances are always laced with the warmth, wit and creative energy of her Irish roots.

"With the quality of the writing and performance on offer from Paula, there there is nothing that can stop her (as the title track from her new album "Let Me Fly" suggests) flying high artistically or her music flying off the virtual shelves. Paula is such "a strong talent in writing and performing...and (her) live performances are well worth seeking out" - Irish Music Magazine

"Irish Singer/Songwriter Paula Ryan is a unique voice in the contemporary folk world..... Proving how insanely talented she is, not only did she write all the songs on her latest album "Let Me Fly", she also arranged the album as well as providing the vocals, guitars, tin whistles, saxophone and percussion amongst many other instruments. "Let Me Fly" is... an enchanting album.....and a well honed crafted record which will bring joy to all who hear it" - Classic Rock Society Magazine
