About Ewan Macintyre Band and Toby Mottershead

Cowboy Campfire Sounds Immersed Soulful Attire, Celtic Grooves Meets Jazz Bar Crooning.

An international music project, pushing the boundaries of contemporary folk.

Featuring Montreal cellist Karine Bouchard, Moray fiddle player Peter Menzies and percussionist Alex Auldsmith with Ewan Macintyre on vocals, guitar and mandolin.

Live shows are filled with rich string arrangements, ripping solos, soaring harmonies and heartfelt lyrical content, bringing to mind the celtic blues/ soul of artists Van Morrison, Paulo Nutini and Eddie Reader.

Led by the ex-lead singer of the award-winning Edinburgh collective Southern Tenant Folk Union, Ewan Macintyre has a rare ability to pen songs in a range of styles. Like many Scottish artists, Ewan crossed the Atlantic to develop his sound, earning his spurs through years of hard touring across Canada and Europe. His recent album Road Junkie is a culmination of that work bringing together some of the finest talent in Quebec, British Columbia and Scotland.

****************

Steel guitar player, singer, and raconteur, Toby Mottershead takes you on a tour of early blues and roots music in an intimate solo show, which features his extraordinary knowledge of American music from the birth of the 20th Century. He has an uncanny ability to bring it back to life: jug bands, juke joints, you’ll come away with the sounds of the Delta and the Hill Country, too.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Ewan Macintyre Band and Toby Mottershead are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
