Making Music and Me

About Making Music and Me

Join me (Cass) in my studio to make a personalised, refillable pocket-sized gratitude journal - a great everyday notebook that can be used to record daily gratitudes. Keeping a journal of this nature has really helped to boost my wellbeing and shift my perspective for the better and while there are many gratitude journals on the market, there is something really special about making your own.

All materials will be provided to make a colourful journal and a number of booklets to get you started. A mini bookbinding toolkit is also included for you to take away, which provides everything you need to make more booklets at home.

Following the workshop Karl will invite us into his studio for some home baking, teas, coffees or a glass of fizz, while he shares some of his beautiful music.

In Karl's words - "In a previous life, I lost what music meant to me and the pleasure and calming effect it had on me had disappeared. All I did was teach it. I stopped listening to it, because I couldn’t bare it any more. 2 years ago, I decided it was time to claim that back and explore my sounds. In this Making, Music and Me workshop, we will take time to just be. To make with our hands, to nurture our creativity and relax to beautiful music written by myself, as well as well known folk music from around the world. This afternoon is all about 'me' (you.) 'Me time.' 'My creativity!' 'Time to relax.' 'Time just to be you!'"

This event is a great opportunity to take a break from festival madness, make some time for you and get an insight into the creative world of two artists based in the heart of Leith.

Location - Meanwhile in Leith, Edinburgh EH6 8NR
