About Bookbinding Plus @ Meanwhile in Leith

Mondays 2nd September to 23rd September

This series of workshops is an opportunity for those with some experience of bookbinding to master a number of trickier binding techniques over 4 creative night-classes at my studio in Leith . . .

These workshops build on the three terms of Upcycled Bookbinding I have developed, which I teach at various venues across Edinburgh, including Tribe Porty and the Edinburgh Remakery. Over 4 sessions you will get to grips with buttonhole binding and create a multifold leather journal with a number of decorative exposed bindings.

Being in my studio means that there will be lots of materials and examples to hand to inspire your creations. There will also be an opportunity to incorporate your own papers and materials, enabling you to give each book your own style.

A cuppa is included at each workshop, as well as a bookbinding goodybag for you to take away to continue your making at home. Classes run from 6.30-8.45pm and the cost is £100 for all 4 classes.

This series of workshops is aimed at those with some bookbinding experience - this by no way means that you need to be an expert but it would help if you are familiar with bookbinding and have perhaps attended one of my classes or another bookbinding class before. Do get in touch is you have any questions about this.

If you haven't tried bookbinding before - I have lots of classes that might be a better fit and are well suited to beginners, see my eventbrite page for more details.

Venue: Meanwhile in Leith, Edinburgh EH6 8NR
