Upcycled Bookbinding at Tribe Porty

About Upcycled Bookbinding at Tribe Porty

Every Thursday evening you'll get hands on with a new bookbinding technique using everyday materials, including card, leather and pleather reminants, fabric offcuts, decorative papers, buttons, beads and ribbons to make a book that is functional and fabulous.

I'll bring all the materials you need each week and there'll be lots of opportunity to personalise to your books, which also make great gifts if you have any birthdays or special occasions coming up!

I'm passionate about repurposing materials and making the craft of bookbinding fun and accessable - so expect an informal atmosphere, lots of guidance and a cuppa to sip while you stitch! When booking all 4 classes, I'll also include a bookbinding starter kit for you to take away with you, which includes all the tools you need to make more books at home - it's an addictive craft - you've been warned!

I will cover the following techniques in this 4 week block, making books in a range of sizes (from A7-A6, portrait and landscape). Classes run from 6.30-8.45pm and cost £100 for all four:

5 September - Exposed long stitch binding
12 September - 4 hole Japanese Stab binding
19 September - Accordion fold books
26 September - Mini books with decorative bindings
