Marrying Afro-Cuban, West African & Balkan influences with modern jazz classics, post-bop and hip-hop, Joe Nicholls’ Nimbus Sextet offer an infectious approach to melody and groove and some classy ensemble playing and soloing. From hard grooving soul-jazz to world jazz crossover this is bright, infectious music making by an infectious young band:
