About Boteco Trio comes to Playtime
Sorry, but this event has been and gone!
Mario Caribe is one of the jewels of the Scottish music scene, a superb bassist, a fine acoustic guitarist, a master of the cavaquinho (Brazil's small cousin of the guitar), a good singer and a talented composer. He also has the vast Brazilian repertoire of songs and rhythms at his fingertips.
A regular participant in the award-winning Playtime sessions, as well as leading his own groups, he has also worked with the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, saxophonist Brian Molley, Moishe's Bagel, Venezuelan pianist Leo Blanco, New Focus and the group formed to honour Brazilian genius-composer Egberto Gismonti, Trio Magico.
Here, Caribe joins his Playtime colleague, saxophonist Martin Kershaw and drummer Max Popp to celebrate his homeland's rich musical culture with joy and irresistible rhythms.
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Boteco Trio comes to Playtime are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
