Free Thought, Free Action: The Role Of Feeling

Anthroposophy in Scotland is holding a weekend seminar at Edinburgh Steiner School on exploring how we can develop towards freedom and true individuality.

Free Thought, Free Action: The Role Of Feeling

About Free Thought, Free Action: The Role Of Feeling

What: A weekend seminar on Rudolf Steiner's suggestion that “A true individuality will be the one who reaches up with his/her feeling to the farthest possible extent into the region of the ideal.” (Ch. 6, § 14 tr. M.Wilson) and “Feeling is the means whereby, in the first instance, concepts gain concrete life” (§ 18). In this weekend seminar we will explore how we can develop towards freedom and true individuality. By investigating our thoughts, feelings and deeds, we will deepen our self-knowledge. We will do thought exercises and social-artistic activities to explore the role of feeling in our individual journeys towards free thought and free action.

When: Friday 26th April (7.30–9pm, doors open 7pm), Saturday 27th April (10am–9pm, doors open 9.30am) and Sunday 28th April (11:30am-4pm, doors open 11:00am)

Where: Edinburgh Steiner School, Spylaw Road, Edinburgh

Who: Jac Hielema is founding teacher of the Economy Transformers Academy, in the Netherlands. Using the principle of ‘what lives within will manifest outwardly’, he develops methods to help individuals and groups discover shared intentions on which to base forms of community that also ensure each person develops their full individual potential. Iddo Oberski is a facilitator of adult learning with experience of working with the Philosophy of Freedom artistically. He offers workshops and courses on contemplative practices and mindfulness.
