About Grup Ternari

GRUP TERNARI - a unique concert!

Grup Ternari - an organist & 2 dulzaina players specialising in European religious & baroque music – are coming over to Edinburgh from Spain the weekend after Easter. Their unusual combination of instruments blends the sound of the dulzaina, a popular folk instrument from Valencia, with that of the more solemn and sacred church organ. They are all professional music teachers, who are keen to bring their music, which has been described as ‘the sound of heaven and earth’, to a wider audience.

The programme ranges from English Baroque to Spanish contemporary:

- Trumpet Voluntary J. Clarke
- Trumpet Tune H. Purcell
- L’incoronzione di Poppea C. Monteverdi
- Sound the trumpet H Purcell
- Trumpet Voluntary op. 6 nº 5 John Stanley
- Cahoineah cu Chulainn Bill Whelan
- Ofertoiro Eduardo Torres (only organ)
- Canon J. Pachelbel
- Tendresa Saül Gómez
- Les noces del Manyà J. R. Pascual Villaplana
- Cant de l’enyor Lluis Llach
- Canciones de Clarines con eco Anónimo s. XVIII

The concert, which includes refreshments afterwards, is free, but donations will be requested for Edinburgh Direct Aid to support Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Grup Ternari are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
