About Square One

Since winning the prestigious Peter Whittingham Jazz Award in 2015, Glasgow-based quartet Square One have gone from strength to strength. Containing no fewer than three holders of the Young Scottish Jazz Musician of the Year title, they have made a big impact with live performances in the UK and Europe and through broadcasts for the BBC. They released their debut album, In Motion, in 2016 and have since followed it with Double Bind, which features their partnership with American saxophonist Andy Middleton.

Their music is melodic, dynamic and dramatic, drawing on rock and folk influences as well as jazz sources including the influential ECM sound.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Square One are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
