The Arrival

About The Arrival

The Arrival is a funny, wildly imaginative and welcoming show, inspired by the award-winning graphic novel by Shaun Tan.

A man journeys to start life in a bewildering new city. It’s a land of strange customs, peculiar animals and weird vegetables. He doesn’t speak the language; he can’t read the maps or signs. He is helped along the way by sympathetic strangers, each with their own story of past and present, survival and hope.

Produced by Solar Bear, a pioneering theatre company celebrating the creative possibilities of inclusion, the production has been created to be accessible for both deaf and hearing audiences and those with English as an additional language. Told in in its own unique way through a mix of visual and physical theatre, the story is aimed at both young people (11+) and adults.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for The Arrival are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
