CollectiveF8 is very excited to announce our debut exhibition, showcasing a broad range of work by 3rd year BA(Hons) Photography students, right in the middle of ECA Welcome Week.
OPENING NIGHT: 18th of September from 6pm-9pm, with music and free drinks galore - we might even sneak some lovely baking in there too.
Venue: The Fire Station, 76-78 Lauriston Place, Edinburgh EH3 9DE
Collective F8 is an eight-girl-strong group of emerging photographers, currently based at Edinburgh College of Art. We came together just as a friendship group but realised early on that we worked great together in the studio, and wanted to curate some kind of opportunity to push each other’s work further. Our fundamental aim is to create interesting opportunities to collaborate and present our art.
We all have the experience of being a female artist in common, and are attempting to create a positive space to celebrate and share that. We’re also concerned with addressing social issues and inciting change – a lot of discussion goes on as to how we can achieve that through photography – but each of us has a different perspective to bring to the table. Images are a universal language, and we believe photography is a great tool to raise awareness of the issues we care about.'
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for CollectiveF8 - Debut Photography Exhibition are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
