Ben Verth – Ben has been writing and performing since around 2007, starting out while at the University of Edinburgh when he co-founded the Edinburgh Revue. As well as stand-up, he is a member of Jo Caulfield's Edinburgh Comedy Collective and recently co-founded Monkey Barrel Comedy Club.
Chris Forbes - 'Brilliantly observed...laugh out loud stuff…A natural comedian.’ (Herald)
Star of BBC’s Scot Squad and award winning comedian, Chris Forbes is one of the most in demand comics in Scotland. As well as being a regular on the UK comedy circuit, Forbes has gigged all over the world and supported Kevin Bridges on tour. Chris’s other TV credits include Jonathan Creek and Mountain Goats on BBC One and Only An Excuse on BBC Scotland. He also featured in BBC Three’s Badults and received a BBC commission for his much praised comedy character, Damien Crow. Chris is one third of the critically acclaimed sketch group, How Do I Get Up There? who also had their own TV Sketch show on BBC Scotland.
Kimi Loughton - "Bright & Engaging" (Fringe Monkey)
Dirty stories delivered with uniquely infectious energy. Kimi Loughton is one of the fastest rising stars on the Scottish Comedy scene, taking you through her trails and tribulations of life in her unique way, sharing her abstract yet poignant view of the modern world. Bold and brash, brave and busty Kimi brings you plenty of laughs but also leaves you pondering about your own views after. Definitely destined for big things and beyond.
Keir McAllister - 'McAllister's rapier wit is a joy to behold' **** (ThreeWeeks)
Keir has gigged all over Scotland and the UK and has had a string of successful festival shows. Keir has also played gigs at T in the Park, Belladrum, and Wickerman festivals and toured much of Scotland and the Highlands with the NHS sponsored “Walk in My Shoes” Tour – which included such eclectic venues as Barlinnie Prison and a charity shop in Dingwall. Keir is an award winning writer (BBC’s Radio Scotland’s Breaking The News, The Karen Dunbar Show, The Good The Bad and The Unexpected. Radio 4 The Speakeasy.) Keir also writes for television and has a number of plays under his belt. His new play The Bench will preview this year at the Edinburgh Fringe in The Gilded Balloon Rose Theatre.
Jay Lafferty - **** ‘Warm, wise, witty and ¬occasionally waspish’ (The Scotsman)
With comedy described as chocolate covered hand grenade. Jay is an experienced writer and performer working on a number of BBC Scotland and BBC Four radio shows and is a regular guest on Radio Scotland's Breaking The News. Jay's fringe debuts 2017 show Besom ranked Number 5 in the Top 10 best reviewed comedy shows at the Edinburgh Fringe 2017. Jay will be returning to the fringe in 2018 with a brand new show Whessht! Premiering at The Gilded Balloon Teviot.
