Returning to the old Leith Theatre for the second year, Hidden Door is continuing the effort to resurrect “Scotland’s best new live music venue”. And for the first time, and continuing the festival’s tradition of discovering forgotten spaces, the former State Cinema building, just around the corner on Great Junction Street, will be opened temporarily as an additional venue in 2018.
Free to explore every day from 12pm to 6pm, discover the hidden secrets of these two buildings both of which will be filled with art and special events in every nook and cranny. Enjoy food and drink from our bars and the best street food vendors and discover a full programme of theatre, film, spoken word, dance and music from 6pm each night.
Music headliners include Young Fathers, Nadine Shah, Sylvan Esso, Submotion Orchestra and Romare. And for those who want to keep dancing until the early hours, Hidden Door will continue with late night DJ sets on each weekend night including live sets from Daniel Avery and Dr Alex Paterson (The Orb).
