This evening of cinema and food is a collaboration between the Edinburgh Food Studio and the University of Edinburgh Film Studies lecturers (who also happen to be foodies): Dr David Sorfa, Dr Pasquale Iannone and Dr Malgorzata Bugaj. It explores synaesthesia - described as the mingling of senses or cross-sensory perception - through a multi-sensory, creative meeting of food and film.
During the course of the evening we will explore not only images, but also sounds, smells and textures linked with cinema. The six-course dinner will be punctuated by discussions, mini-lectures and film clips related to the dishes. We promise a bright, effervescent evening filled with surprises to stimulate your taste buds and stir your imagination!
The set menu costs £50, and an optional drinks pairing menu will be available for £35. To avoid disappointment, please book in advance and let us know of your dietary requirements.
The event will be repeated over three evenings: 26th, 27th and 28th April.
