As part of the 2018 Edinburgh International Science Festival, join us at Dynamic Earth and take part in a new national science engagement programme celebrating environmental science. ‘Operation Earth’ will engage and inspire you in the science of planet Earth with amazing family learning experiences and give you an insight into how scientists are working to solve some of the biggest environmental challenges on Earth.
Take part in our new family science show, running throughout the day! Earthy is feeling a little under the weather and is going to the doctors for a check-up. Join us together with the help of expert scientists, as we investigate what is bothering Earthy. Become a trainee environmental scientist and help us investigate Earthy’s land, air and oceans, and see if together we can identify and find solutions to Earthy’s problems.
As well as our family science show, we’ll have lots of other activities for you to take part in throughout the day! Investigate the microscopic world, take part in food chain jenga, become a human air quality sensor, pilot a drone in our simulator software, become an ecologist and sample the wildlife in our meadow, investigate how Earth’s oceans are changing and so much more.
These activities are available as a drop-in experience as part of your visit to Dynamic Earth between 10am and 4pm. These activities are included with admission to the Dynamic Earth exhibition and are free for Explorer Pass holders.
