About Speed-sketching Taster Workshop
Sorry, but this event has been and gone!
Capture in detail the historical architecture, unique heritage features and charming landscape of Edinburgh's city centre with Mark Kirkham, a local artist known as the Edinburgh Sketcher. Explore Edinburgh’s New Town and Portrait Gallery with a sketch book in hand, using ink and watercolour to bring your visit to life. You will take home your favourite drawing in a mount, plus a number of other personal pieces documenting your journey.
With helpful instruction from Mark you will quickly pick up sketching skills while increasing confidence in your own artistic ability as you wynd through cobbled streets, Georgian crescents and stylish shop fronts.
After welcome refreshments, we will head out to explore Edinburgh's New Town and Scottish Portrait Gallery starting with quick simple drawings in black ink and increase to more detailed pieces using watercolour washes as your confidence grows. We will return to The Arienas Collective for a warming cup of tea while we complete our watercolouring, and mount our favourite sketch ready to take home.
Price: £45 per person including all materials and refreshments, and a mounted copy of your favourite sketch.
Please note that this workshop is the afternoon session of our full-day Book-binding & Speed-sketching workshop. If you would like to join us for the full day please book via this link.
