About manipulate: Women in Puppetry and Animated Film

Bristol Festival of Puppetry

First presented at the Bristol Festival of Puppetry in 2017, this showcase of animated films each of which harnesses the almost infinite malleability and versatility of puppetry, celebrates the talents of female directors, animators, puppeteers and other filmmaking creatives both in front and behind the camera.

From alternative leading ladies to female views on sexuality, conflict and relationships, this recently curated collection of shorts reflects the expertise and experiences of women working in puppetry and film today. manipulate is delighted to be able to screen this dynamic and thought-provoking selection of animated shorts.

This event is part of the Animated Film series at manipulate Festival 2018, which offers an immersive opportunity to enjoy a wide-range of eclectic contemporary animation from around the globe.
