Dressmaking - 6 week course
About Dressmaking - 6 week course

This short dressmaking course will teach you basic dressmaking techniques so you can make your own clothes. You’ll be able to make unique clothes that fit perfectly. I’ll coach you along the way in the following:

-How to choose an appropriate pattern for your level of ability,
-Taking measurements, cutting and fitting the pattern, understanding pattern markings and instructions
-Altering the pattern for a perfect fit
-Sewing tips and techniques to achieve a professional finish

This 6 week dressmaking course will give you enough time to make a simple garment such as a skirt or a top for Christmas. Or perhaps that Little Black Dress for those parties?

You’ll need to bring your own pattern, fabric, matching thread, plus any interfacing, zips/buttons etc which you require to complete your project. Please bring a basic sewing kit of fabric shears, sharp embroidery scissors and pins. You’ll also need a notebook.
If you’ve already got some dressmaking experience, then I can help you improve your techniques to achieve a professional finish.
The class size comprises no more that 3 students so I can give everyone lots of individual attention, focusing on your own personal project and how I can help you develop your particular skills.
If you’d prefer to make clothes for your children instead of yourself, then you can do this here too.

Level: Beginners – Experienced (tuition is personally tailored so you learn at your own skill level)
Duration: 2 hours per week for 6 weeks

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Dressmaking - 6 week course are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
