About Light Night

Light Night is a free event for all to enjoy, which encapsulates the true spirit of the festive season: family and the community. Choirs from across Scotland will perform in front of an expected audience of around 20,000 people, once again hosted by Forth One DJ Arlene Stuart!

The Christmas Tree on the Mound, a gift to the City of Edinburgh Council from Hordaland County Council in Norway, will be lit as part of the Light Night switch-on.

Please note: Light Night runs from 3pm - 5pm on 19 November, the fireworks are at 5pm. We expect the event to be very busy, so please leave plenty of time to arrive, and travel by public transport if at all possible to avoid congestion in the city centre.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Light Night are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
