Traverse Theatre Company
Class Act is the Traverse’s flagship education project. Now in its 27th year, Class Act challenges senior pupils from schools across Edinburgh to become playwrights, creating brand new scripts which are premiered on the Traverse stage.
We’ll present work of pupils from Craigroyston Community High School, Currie Community High School, Firrhill High School and Leith Academy. Traverse 1 will host two evenings of exciting new work from the Traverse’s next generation of playwrights – the Class Act 2018 graduates.
CLASS ACT CONNECT
In celebration of the 2018 Year of Young People, the Traverse has expanded its engagement programme to create Class Act Connect. Across the Autumn/Winter 2018 and Spring/Summer 2019 seasons, the four participating Class Act schools will be offered free tickets to Traverse Theatre Company productions.
In addition, in spring 2019, the Traverse will offer Class Act Connect schools a further two free theatre skills workshops, aiming to strengthen our relationship with schools and young people in our community.
