Is it Paper? Is it fabric? Sometimes it's neither. Contemporary embroidery has banished all the traditional methods and constrictions about what you can and can't do. I often include substances such as paper, plastic and metal in my mixed-media textile art. This unusual mixed-media textile workshop will teach you how to create stitchable surfaces from paper and other non-conventional materials. Most of them are already lying about the house. Learn how to create colour and pattern, decorate with stitch (hand or machine), then use your stitched work to make a book cover.
No drawing experience is required. Free-motion embroidery experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Paper Fabric: Make a book cover are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
