Tales of the Towpath is a series of short plays exploring the story of the Union Canal and people connected to it.
Citadel Arts Group's team of playwrights have researched the history of the Union Canal and unearthed some fascinating true life stories: the body of the man who designed the Scott Monument was fished out of the canal: mugged, murdered or drunk?
The Falkirk tunnel was cut because a local landowner didn't want his mansion and park overlooked by the canal. Most of the navvies were Highlanders or Irish and they didn't get on.
The factory inspector who investigated a notorious industrial accident at the Fountainbridge Rubber Mill was a woman.
The St Andrew Boat Club on the canal, the rowing club oldest in Scotland, resisted allowing women any say in running the club.
Citadel Arts Group uses music and humour to uncover some little known aspects of Edinburgh heritage.
Directed by Mark Kydd.
