Join us for W.O.R.M.S Appreciation Day - Because Worms Obviously Require Motivation Seasonally!
A celebration of compost and worms for all ages with activities and performances including:
- Take a microscopic look at the happenings inside the Market Garden’s compost heaps with Matt Elliot from Scotland’s Plant Health Centre & Jamie Somerville from Lauriston Soil Lab
- Make your own Ode to the worms fridge magnet with Courtney Stoddart and collaged text as part of Scottish Book Trust’s Live Literature programme
- Screen printing with bio-based ink (bring a t-shirt along, or we'll have fabric patches)
- Pin the Worm on the Parsnip game
- “Ceremonial” opening of our Open Flow Vermiculture Compost System with spoken word, worms, audio installation, big puppets, painting and more!
- Soup! Yum!
This event is free, though places are limited - please book a place on Eventbrite to help us with planning.
Worm Appreciation Day is part of a year-long project supported by Scotland’s Plant Health Centre, who are working with us to develop plant health and biosecurity resources for the community.
